Options for the Work at Home Mom

What options are available for making money online, for a work at home mom?

Lots. There are so many options for the work at home mom, in fact, that your head whirls and spins and you almost short-circuit when you start researching them. Just when you think you've found 'the right one' for you, something else comes along to grab your interest.

When I first began my quest to become a work at home mom I researched many options.

If you want to become a work at home mom, how do you finally decide what to go with?

Legitimate ways to make money on the internet for a work at home mom
There are many different ways to earn money online. Here are a few that I, a new work at home mom, have considered.

Sell products on eBay: As with any other online business, research will be the key to your success.
Find out which items are in high demand, and if you can provide those you are in business. It does require some research into shipping and packaging, and you must be prepared to ship items that are sold fairly quickly. If you are willing to undertake this, eBay selling can be quite lucrative. This may not be the easiest way for a work at home mom to start off her internet business though.

Make money with Google Adsense: Some online entrepreneurs vow that they are able to make a substantial amount of income by placing Google ads on their websites. It's not quite as easy as it sounds. Your site needs to be optimized for the main search engines. If no one can find your site, you won't get many people clicking on your Google ads. There's a bit of a steep learning curve involved with this, and it's not something you can expect immediate income from. Generally speaking, you would have to make good, high-quality, informational sites on niche products; build up a steady stream of visits via search engines, and then place your Ads. Something for the work at home mom to consider, if you're prepared to wait a while for results.

Join with an Affiliate Program: There is an abundance of Affiliate programs on the internet. At first glance it is difficult to tell how much initial outlay of money you'll need to invest. Some seem to be much simpler to implement than others. Some programs offer personal training and excellent tech support. Other's are a bit slim when it comes to assistance of any kind. I spent a long time researching Affiliate programs. Finally I came up with a couple of opportunities that I felt were doable, didn't require a lot of initial investment, and offered good customer support for this work at home mom.

I am currently implementing a couple of these, and have yet to see what sort of results I will reap and whether they are worth recommending to any other work at home mom.

There are other opportunities for a work at home mom: You can bid on writing articles; set up an online store, write ads, sell horoscopes, resell domains, take photographs and post them online for people to buy, design websites, sell graphics, and more. I am concentrating primarily on the three options listed above. I aim to implement all methods and see which is the most successful.

Having said that, I want to reiterate that none of these options will 'work' on their own. After research and study, I realized that if I am serious about increasing my revenue from online sources as a work at home mom I must work at it. I will need to learn new things, to research, experiment and take time planning and setting things up. Where is that knowledge going to come from?

In my next post I'll discuss how you can learn to be a successful work at home mom.
